THURSDAY'S THOUGHTS

VIA

FEELING: Sometimes Flyboy's job takes him to really cool places. Sometimes he gets to return to a beautiful island where we used to live, and I'll get texts with photos of beaches and onolicious treats. I *should* be happy for him, but instead I just get really annoyed and respond to his lovely messages with every eye-roll gif I can find. In the event he eats Mac Nut Pancakes at Boots and Kimo's, he better pay in cash because if I see the restaurant show up on our banking, I'm going to fire up the lawn mower and start doing wheelies in his precious grass. That beloved Toro TimeCutter is going to be fueled by gin and jealousy. Ha Ha! Kidding, kind of...

THANKFUL FOR: Since FB is out and about jet setting, Max and I might swing down to D.C. for a few days and visit my parents before the second round of in-laws arrive next week. The planner in me thinks I should probably stay home and clean some more since we'll be having guests, but for the sake of our marriage, it's probably best I get a change of scenery. I mean, I'm starting to run out of perturbed gifs I can text him and I'd hate to see our emerald turf all torn up as a result of my joy ride (#greenwithenvy, anyone?!). Our Amish grass man works REALLY hard.

THINKING ABOUT: We recently got this mini projector and portable projector screen from Amazon so we can watch movies outside this Summer. We haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but we're super excited to make it a thing, especially on the weekends. Stocking up on snacks will be easy, now to figure out what movie to stream first. Ideas?

READING: Whenever I put this out into the blogosphere, it manifests, so here we go. I'm going to be predictable AF and tell you that I can't seem to find the latest Summer issue of Domino anywhere in Dover. I'm pretty bummed, as it hit newsstands June 1st. Sure, this wouldn't be a problem if I just subscribed to the glossy already, but then I wouldn't have anything to complain about. Of course, when I do find it, I will feel like a champ. It's a vicious cycle.

LISTENING TO: Do all four year olds think they're an expert about everything? Mine feels the need "Maxplain" it all, and it's a bit much. I always thought it was just tweens and teenagers that acted this way. Should I go ahead and assume this behavior will continue for the next thirty years? After he's got a few decades under his belt, maybe, just maybe, he'll agree that his mom was right at least some of the time?? Heck, I may have even taught him a thing or two.

WATCHING: I don't know what it is about Teddi on RHOBH, but I simply can't stand her this season. She really didn't bring much to the table last year, but I didn't mind her. This time around, however, it's as though she's found a newfound confidence since buddying up with Kyle (who I like). Now that she's seated at the cool girls' table, she comes off as desperate and as though she's trying too hard. Does this make sense? Am I being too hard on her? Aside from holding everyone "accountable" and stirring the "puppygate" turd, she adds very little value to the show.

EATING: Whenever someone comes to visit, most of the planning revolves around food. Add a holiday like the 4th of July on top of things and we've got some BIG decisions to make. Now, I realize we're still a week away, so I should probably slow my roll, but I could use ideas!! So far we've got 50 Stars BBQ Chicken via In Honor of Design and the Pioneer Woman's Best Baked Beans (she's not lying!) on the menu. What about dessert?? Another side dish?

LOVING
: In my ongoing pursuit to get a nice bronze glow on my face without the sun damage, I decided to try St. Tropez Self-Tan Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist (what a mouthful!). Fully prepared to return the product, I filed the receipt in my wallet when I got home, but it looks like I can go ahead and just throw the paper away because I'm obsessed with the mist. I still haven't figured out how this magic potion works, but the application goes on evenly after I've moisturized my face in the evening (I apply every 2-3 nights). Then you wake up with a nice bronzed glow the next morning—no weird streaks or spots like some other face tanners I've tried in the past.

How are you feeling today? What are you up to? Thanks for stopping by!!
