"THE DETAILS ARE NOT THE DETAILS. THEY MAKE THE DESIGN." — CHARLES EAMES
For months I passed a bright blue cantina while heading into town. Amid the arid desert landscape, it was only natural for my eye to gravitate toward this random pop of color. Oddly enough, I immediately thought it would be a great photo backdrop and had the urge to take pictures of Max at the location. I told Flyboy about my scheme and begged him to come along for a photo op. I think we both liked the idea of getting pictures at the vibrant spot, but whenever the weekend rolled around, we managed to come up with a gazillion reasons to put it off once more. Then on Sunday, we finally went for it, and I'm really glad we did. After frequently passing the joint, I noticed Sundays would be best because the cafe was closed and it would be less awkward to show up for a family photo sesh. I'm certain people drove by and wondered what we were up to; I think the three of us kind of stood out. In true Swell Rio fashion, there were dogs barking and people looking out their windows. It was blazing hot that afternoon and we were serenaded by the sound of a rooster cock-a-doodle-dooing in the distance. While I'm no professional, it was fun to play around with my camera and capture two of my favorite people together. I'd chalk this up as another Swell Rio success. On to the next colorful cantina...
Happy Tuesday, sweet readers! What does this week have in store for you? I hope your day is off to a fabulous start!
