ReplyDeleteEvery year on Christmas Eve my parents, my sister and I meet up with my our extended family in the area at a local cajun restaurant called LeMeires. We trade gifts and hang out and have a jolly time! Then we are done we get our picture taken with the suit of armor that is always dressed in a Santa Suit. It's pretty much the best!

My favorite thing about the holiday season is probably all the lights and the cold weather! The bright colors in clothing, stores and on smiling faces!:)
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite traditions as a family is my sisters birthday (Dec.18). We've gone to the Nutcracker Ballet since she was 3, which makes 22 years of fairyland! And we always spend the day in San Francisco. So much fun at Christmastime!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about the holiday season is my nativity scene. It's always the first thing I put out (mainly because it's easy) and since all of the girls in my family have matching one - it's even more meaningful.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday activity is to take my boys to see all the fun holiday events my city has to offer. We go see the holiday train display, the vintage santa's elves workshop, we go downtown (Cincinnati) and ice skate on fountain square and go see the Nutcracker.

ReplyDelete3. I am absolutely wild about Christmas. What don't I love? I am especially crazy about Christmas music and Christmas decorations. But, my favorite part of the holiday is having all of my family in one place at the same time, sitting around, drinking wine, telling stories, and enjoying one anothers company. Can't beat that.
ReplyDeleteI started a new holiday tradition last year while making my Grandma's fudge recipe. I watch Holiday Inn and White Christmas back to back while baking. Those are two fantastic classic Christmas movies that I had never seen before last year. This year I made sure to pick both movies up at Target, so I don't even have to schedule my baking around TCM's tv programming.

Other than that, the family game time is a MUST. I will be found around the table, playing Settlers of Catan, or Dominos, or anything else involving competition and laughter among my loved ones! I hope you guys are able to incorporate some tradition out there on the island!!

Every Christmas Eve, the 18 grandchildren on my Mom's side of the family act out the Christmas story play style. We go up in my grandparent's closets and find all kinds of things for costumes.
