I despise shorts. I really do. I've never liked showcasing my gams. Then again, what's not to love about sturdy German peasant stock limbs? But after 100-degree temps in Texas and year-round summer weather in Hawaii, I've had no choice but learn to accept it. And as with most clothing, I'm rather finicky when it comes to the fit of shorts. I've tried various brands, but I'm a J.Crew loyalist through and through. I imagine that comes as a total shocker to you. No? Occasionally, I feel a bit bold and brave with an urge to try something else (C.Wonder? Madewell?), but I always go back to my tried and true chino shorts.

The Short List:
1. Beach Short
4. Bungalow Stripe Panorama Short (Madewell)
5. Sailor Short
9. Paper Bag Short (C. Wonder)
Trust me, I know that brand loyalty is very personal. What works for me, might not be your cup of tea. Just find what fits and is flattering, and don't be afraid to play around with a little color, texture, and pattern. Where have you had luck finding shorts?
Happy Thursday!

j.crew shorts are my fav too.
ReplyDeleteI've gotten several cute pairs of shorts at Loft. I love shopping for them in fall because they have great shorts. Last summer I got a pair for $5 - way lower than the $30-40 price range they usually fall in.
ReplyDelete"sturdy German peasant stock limbs"... laughing, because I have them too! I have good luck with Dockers shorts; not too short, not too long, and super comfy.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I wish we had a Loft on island. They always have great deals:)

ReplyDeleteI adore the red Madwell and the seersucker shorts! Some of my favorite summer shorts that I have are BDG from Urban Outfitters.
