This post goes out to my wonderful mother! As I've gotten older, I realize that I'm a miniature version of you, and I couldn't be more proud to say that. I wish I could reach out and give you a ginormous hug, but this post will have to do for now. You've taught me what it means to be tenacious and kind. And while you may describe yourself as intense, I see someone who's plucky and passionate. In fact, I think it's one particular trait I inherited from you that's quite fabulous. Ha ha! Your smile and bubbly personality are contagious. I try to channel your optimism and thoughtfulness each day, but I've never come close. You've loved us like it's your job, and you continue to offer support and adoration when it's needed the most. You're my greatest cheerleader and friend. One day, I hope to make you a grandmother, and I can only hope I'm half the mother you've been to me*. I want you to surround yourself with some of your favorite things. You deserve the very best! Even though we're thousands of miles away from one another, I'll sip on some tea and wear my cashmere cardi in your honor. It will make me feel a little closer to you.
