My adoration for illustrator, Katie Evans, is nothing new to you; however, I think I'll use this platform to dote on her cheerful and colorful work just a tad bit more. You see, next to the word "smitten" in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of me with a delightfully silly smile on my face. I get giddy just thinking about her whimsical work! Perhaps you're familiar with her illustrations, which have graced the pages of Matchbook magazine countless times? What about Evans' cheeky designs, used regularly by the clever folks at Kate Spade? Gee, it sounds like two of my favorite worlds have collided yet again! You can only imagine the excitement I felt when I stumbled upon Kate Spade's recent collaboration with travel site, Fathom. I immediately started clicking through the city guides in hopes of finding one of Katie's darling doodles. Just as I'd expected, Ms. Evans creatively illustrated packing lists for each of the cities featured. Which city suits you and your style best? I'm definitely a NYC and London combo.
Packing List: New York City “there is something in the new york air that makes sleep useless.” - simone de beauvoir |
Packing List: London
“when a man is tired of london, he is tired of life; for there is in london all that life can afford."
- samuel johnson
|
Packing List: Los Angeles
“tip the world over on its side and everything loose will land in los angeles."
- frank lloyd wright
|
Packing List: Tokyo "what a strange thing! to be alive beneath cherry blossoms.” - kobayashi issa |
Packing List: Tahiti “silence! i am learning to know the silence of a tahitian night.” - paul gauguin |

If you could just hop on a plane and go anywhere today, where would it be and why?

Great choice! Thanks for stopping by:)
ReplyDeleteMy style is a mix of all our locations we've hit. Little bits collected at each one. Makes me look rather schizophrenic.
ReplyDeleteI'll mark July 2013 off the calendar (I believe I should have the entire month off), so no planning will happen until I've got your reservation booked in the guest room. When they are both set-up, you can pick your poison. :)
